Mpower SDSL

Mpower SDSL

Mpower SDSL (Symmetrical Digital Subscriber Line) offers equal upstream and downstream speeds of up to 1.5 Megabits per second (Mbps). Unlike ADSL (Asymmetrical Digital Subscriber Line), which only allows quick downloads, Mpower SDSL gives you the power to both receive and send large files at high speeds. SDSL moves data up to 50 times faster than a dial-up modem. SDSL is suited for businesses because it allows for consistent, high-speed Internet connections that can be used to transport large files between offices, vendors, and customers, which can result in significant time and cost savings.

Symmetric Digital Subscriber Lines (SDSL) are unique lines all the way to the Central Office or Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN), where traffic is directed onto the Internet. This means that, similar to ISDN and T1 lines, the SDSL bandwidth you pay for is the bandwidth you get.

In between, a range of speeds designed to meet different needs and budgets.
Since it is possible to change the speed of a DSL line without installing new equipment, you can easily increase or decrease bandwidth as your needs change. With DSL technology, you can buy as little or as much bandwidth as you need:

Mpower SDSL Benefits

  • At the low end, 128 kilobits per second (Kbps), similar to ISDN line

  • At the high end, faster than a T1 line

  • SDSL Provides the ability to quickly upload and download even large files

  • SDSL Is the preferred business technology

  • Mpower SDSL Supports businesses that need the same high-speed data rates for both uploads and downloads through Internet servers

  • Mpower SDSL Allows data to flow at the same speed, whether it's being uploaded or downloaded (symmetric)

  • Mpower SDSL Ensures high-quality video conferencing and the high-speed transfer of large files and email attachments in either direction

  • SDSL Is best suited for businesses (e.g., advertising agencies, law practices, etc.) that depend on the efficient transfer of large files across the Internet or across a LAN
